The 2010 Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Party raises money to benefit The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a non-profit donor-supported organization aiding the development of the means to cure Cystic Fibrosis.

Beginning in 1994, John and Sheila Gartland hosted their first Halfway event to celebrate their Irish Heritage and to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of John’s two nephews, Christopher and Timothy. Unfortunately, John passed away as well.

Now in 2010, the Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Party has become the largest fundraiser for Ohio’s Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Once in the Gartland’s backyard, the Halfway Party has grown to host hundreds of generous supporters each year.

To help our friends at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Origo Branding Company was happy to design the campaign for this year’s event. Emphasizing the Irish tradition, we wanted to excite people about this spectacular community event, but above all, remind them that the proceeds are going toward an important cause.

Come help Origo support this great cause at the Smith Brothers Building on Friday, September 17th. Tickets are $40, which includes your food and endless drinks for the night. Contact Marketing Manager, Alessandro Ciaffoncini, at alessandro@origobranding.com for your tickets today!

We love launching each issue of NextSpace because we always learn something new and useful about the latest innovations not only affecting the modern library, but our everyday lives.

In Issue #15 of NextSpace: Metadata Everywhere our partners at OCLC (the Online Computer Library Center) focuses on data, and data-about-data. What we learn is about Metadata, and how it is used to track materials, assess needs, compare collections, inform research, manage workflows, plan budgets and even make friends.

As our partners at OCLC states:

“…it puts libraries, and catalogers, right in the middle of a revolution in how we think about representing and describing information. And the more partners we can involve in these processes, the more chances libraries have to add value up and down a variety of data supply chains.”

Origo worked to successfully represent these concepts through showing tangible products and their connection to the network of information that has been installed into our everyday lives. Now with 1.9 billion items online, it is apparent why NextSpace and OCLC are one of the most leading information providers around the world.

Read the whole issue here: NextSpace Issue #15: Metadata Everywhere, or check out more of our creative publication work.

We would like to congratulate one of our most favorite clients, the Columbus Metropolitan Library, who was awarded (once again) the 2010 National Library of the Year this week by Library Journal. Honored to be a long-time partner and friend to CML, we were very happy to hear they were being recognized for their exceptional demonstration of community service, creativity and innovation in programs.

But if that wasn’t enough excitement, Origo was able to help CML take this week to the next level. Alongside this outstanding achievement, we were excited to help launch CML’s Summer Reading Program 2010 campaign for the fourth year in a row.

At Origo, we branded the Summer Reading Program as a fun and exciting event, while promoting the sense of community reading can bring through the tagline: “Share the Love. Read.”

Already a successful campaign, we helped confirm the CML’s ongoing mission to “promote reading and guide learning in the pursuit of information, knowledge, and wisdom”. It’s no wonder why the Columbus Metropolitan Library is consistently recognized as the #1 system in the nation.

To see more great campaign work for the Columbus Metropolitan Library, check out our work.

With a throwback to the Tommaso Inc. days, Origo will be featured in the next issue of LogoLounge Volume 6 showing last year’s Halloween promotional logo.

Celebrating the Halloween spirit, the Origo promotional campaign showed off our great skill and expertise in the area of illustration and typographic design. We held a Halloween party for our clients and friends, making it one of the most fun holidays of the year. Some of the work included environmental banners, postcards, mailers, and posters for our guests. And no, we didn’t forget to throw in some of Halloween’s most valued treats for the party guests!

Inspired by vintage Halloween masks, these cards paired fun illustration with interesting typography to create a complete Halloween campaign. The cards were mailed out as a package to invite clients to the Origo Halloween party, creating quite the buzz among friends and client— overall creating one spooky success!

For those who don’t know LogoLounge— it is a forum in which designers and branding shops of the highest standard showcase their portfolio of logo designs. Each year, logos are voted upon by a panel of judges and few are selected to be featured in their annual publication.

LogoLounge Volume 6 is to hit bookstores and design shops February, 2011. Until then, feel free to check out some of our other cool promotions.

It has been six months since our rebrand from Tommaso Inc. to Origo, and in that time we have had a lot of fun going through some changes— but we aren’t done yet. Not by a long shot.

So expect some new developments in these upcoming months because branding High Street just isn’t enough.

At Origo, we spend our time generating compelling creative strategies and solutions for our clients, mixing our artistic intuition with our business savvy to help client after client connect and stand out from their competitors. But what does our creative team do when the day is done and it is time to go home? Simply put, they rock out more creative.

A perfect example is President and Creative Director, Tommaso Ciaffoncini, who just launched his online fine arts portfolio. His new site, creatively titled www.tommasociaffoncini.com, features about a decade of paintings, drawings, and artistic expression. Taking us to his roots of Urbino, Italy (birthplace of famous renaissance artist, Raffaello Sanzio) to his extensive background in design and fine arts, Tommaso shows his passion for the arts and expression.

Tommaso has produced works in different mediums, from watercolor to wood to oil, but has moved expressly toward working with oils. And although, much of his work has been figurative, he finds power and a flow driving him in his abstract pieces.

Always showing great leadership to his creative team, Tommaso is a perfect example that here at Origo, creative goes beyond the “9 to 5” job.

Visit www.tommasociaffoncini.com, and tell us what you think!

Here at Origo, we are very excited for the opening of the newest local coffee shop to hit Historic Dublin, Java Jan Gourmet Coffee. With a dream to own her own coffee shop, owner Janet Antauer came to us in need of an engaging interior design that was functional and warm, creating an atmosphere that would be synonymous to her brand. Little did she know, President and Creative Principal, Tommaso Ciaffoncini, has a strong history and passion for interior design.

Starting with measurements and specs, Tommaso began creating sketches and studying different patterns and materials. It wasn’t long before Java Jan Gourmet Coffee was a reality.

Now serving the happy patrons of Dublin and beyond, Java Jan Gourmet Coffee is as comforting and warm as the owner behind the counter. Through creating a culture of friendliness and neighborly care, it truly is love at first sip.

Stop in for hot cup! Located next to the Our Cupcakery, you can find Java Jan at 16 N High Street in Dublin. (Phone: 614-284-3178)
