<p>A couple of months ago we featured e-Cycle, a Top 5 fastest growing environmental services company in the Inc. Magazine list, as we launched its newly redesigned <a title="e-cycle link" href="http://www.e-cycle.com/">website</a>. So far, the website has proven to be very effective for this leader in mobile buyback and recycling, delivering an online navigation experience that focuses on their tagline: &#8220;Recycle, Recover, Protect.&#8221;</p>
<p>This message, however, goes beyond just a tagline. This represents the e-Cycle Process, which delineates the company&#8217;s turnkey mobile buyback, recycling, and data protection process. In order to provide e-Cycle customers with an easy visualization of how they can benefit from using e-Cycle&#8217;s services, Origo set out to develop a 2-minute motion graphics video.</p>
<p>e-Cycle&#8217;s process video is a versatile tool that can be used by e-Cycle representatives to teach new customers about the benefits of the company. It also provides informative visuals during conferences and presentations, and attract visitors to the website to learn more about mobile buyback and recycling.</p>

<p>Origo has had the honor of being <a title="medigold" href="http://www.medigold.com/">MediGold’s</a> agency of record for the last two seasons. As a not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan based out of Mount Carmel, MediGold offers benefits that help seniors stay healthy and active. Origo has developed the overall marketing strategy, including print advertising, online strategy, and direct marketing and television campaign for both enrollment seasons.</p>
<p>Men and women eligible for Medicare, and those nearing eligibility, are primarily focused on finding a plan with the greatest value to them, and MediGold can provide it. As their agency of record, it was imperative that Origo communicate MediGold’s competitive benefits such as their primary feature &#8211; a $0 Premium Plan. It was also important to communicate MediGold’s latest benefit, the SilverSneakers® fitness club membership. This benefit, to help seniors stay active and healthy, was the driving force behind this year’s campaign: “Go with MediGold.” Our objectives were:</p>
<ul>
<li>Highlight main benefits such as the $0 Premium Plan and SilverSneakers fitness club membership.</li>
<li>Engage audience in a way that would excite them about being active and energetic.</li>
<li>Promote fitness club membership was to build interest by prospective MediGold members who overlooked the plan in previous years due to the lack of SilverSneakers offering.</li>
</ul>
<p>We devised a campaign that focused on inspirational and active outdoor photography, coupled with a vibrant color palette. The tagline “Go with MediGold.” is to inspire seniors and help them envision themselves as energetic and youthful MediGold members.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We enjoy working with projects that serve a greater cause. Our partnerships with various community organizations that help Columbus and the region be the best it can be has always been a point of pride for the Origo team. When we were approached by the <a href="http://www.odadas.state.oh.us/public/">Ohio Department of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services</a> (ODADAS) to aid them in their initiatives against painkiller addiction, we knew the project would be right up our alley.</p>
<p>In order to inform and engage the community and the public sector about the severity of the issue that is painkiller addiction, ODADAS needed a tool to provide critical information while also appealing to people&#8217;s emotions. For such a heavy topic, it was a tall order to devise a story that would touch viewers in such a way as to inspire action.</p>
<p>&#8220;Little Pill, Big Problem − Ohio&#8217;s Opiate Story&#8221; was born out of this necessity. Through the analysis of a wide array of statistics on the issue, we were able to condense the message to touch on only the major and most important points. In order to portray this story, we developed a motion graphics video that is dynamic and fast-paced.</p>
<p>Employing the use of kinetic type, conceptual graphics, and smooth transitions, Origo was able to develop a video that can be easily used during presentations and disseminated online, making it the perfect tool for issue engagement.</p>

<p>Please welcome new Graphic Designer, Nicole Fansler (<a title="nicole twitter" href="https://twitter.com/#!/nfans">@nfans</a>), to the Origo team. Coming from a background in the Higher Education industry, Nicole brings a new element of design and thinking to the group. Previously a lead designer at Davis College, we love Nicole’s experience in taking on big projects, collaborating in a team environment, and offering innovative solutions and ideas to our client strategies.</p>
<p>Only on the team for a couple weeks, Nicole has already made a great impression with her great attitude and ability to understand some of our most prominent clients’ needs.</p>
<p>Just to give a little background on Nicole, here is a bit that we have found out so far:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Interests:</strong> Anything art and design related, sand volleyball, traveling, meeting new people.</li>
<li><strong>Inspirations:</strong> The whole design process inspires me. Being able to create something from concept to finish with a great team in place is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling experiences. Also, the environments around me are a great source of inspiration and can always be interpreted into something creative.</li>
<li><strong>How would you describe your design style (few words)?</strong> Vibrant, fun, typographic, and layered</li>
<li><strong>Best job you&#8217;ve ever had:</strong> Having the opportunity to coach a volleyball team was a great job.</li>
<li><strong>Worst job you&#8217;ve ever had:</strong>  Cleaning out dorm rooms at a college for a summer</li>
<li><strong>Favorite movie/genre:  </strong>Willy Wonka &amp; the Chocolate Factory</li>
<li><strong>Favorite music/genre:</strong> Electronic/Alternative</li>
<li><strong>Dislikes/pet peeves:  </strong>People who don&#8217;t use their turn signals!</li>
<li><strong>Something interesting about yourself (quirky/fun):</strong> I&#8217;m an avid Harry Potter fan, and one day would love to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.</li>
</ul>
<p>As you can see, Origo celebrates exciting, talented, and creative individuals and feel Nicole will be a great addition to the team. Come by and say hello!</p>

<p style="text-align: left">It&#8217;s always rewarding to align ourselves with organizations that care about pushing the community forward and developing an increased sense of belonging to a city. A while ago, the city&#8217;s <a href="http://parks.columbus.gov/homepage.aspx">Recreation and Parks Department</a> approached us with a great opportunity to develop the web presence of the recently completed Scioto Mile (<a title="scioto mile" href="http://www.sciotomile.com/" target="_blank">www.sciotomile.com</a>). This urban oasis stretches along the Scioto River from the Arena District all the way to Whittier Peninsula through an integrated system of parks, boulevards, bikeways and pedestrian paths.</p>
<p style="text-align: left">It was important that Origo develop a website that reflected the ambitious nature of this urban development undertaking in all of its complexity. Not only is this an urban space for relaxation and entertainment, but it also serves as a vehicle for Columbus&#8217; Downtown economic development by attracting new business and stimulating the area&#8217;s economy. Providing opportunities for cultural growth and championing healthy lifestyles, the Scioto Mile needed a web presence in line with its values.</p>
<p style="text-align: left">While developing the site, we kept in mind that user experience was paramount. Vibrant blues and greens reflect the outdoor nature of the Mile and big, colorful imagery adds to its playfulness. The most important functionality, however, is the <em>Events Calendar</em> feature that allows users to keep up to date with all of the exciting events happening around the Mile. Not only can users learn about upcoming events, but they can also submit events to be reviewed by the Scioto Mile staff.</p>

<p>Last night was a great night for Origo at the <a title="columbus ama" href="http://columbusama.org/" target="_blank">Columbus AMA</a>&#8216;s Achievement in Marketing Awards. Not only did we have the opportunity to sponsor an event that honors the hard work of our industry, but we were also lauded with many major awards! Seeing hard work pay off always feels good.</p>
<p>We were also very excited to see our client, the Columbus Metropolitan Library, be recognized with the AIM Grand Award for the <a title="Be a Hero link" href="http://origobranding.com/our-projects/columbus-metropolitan-library/" target="_blank">&#8220;Be a Hero. More recently, the firm has identified an increased need for legal advice pertaining specifically to global business matters. Because of this need, Kegler Brown decided to launch a microsite focusing on this specific area of practice to help meet the demand.</p>
<p>Origo had the great opportunity to develop Kegler Brown&#8217;s &#8220;Global Business&#8221; microsite (<a title="Kegler Global" href="http://www.keglerbrownglobal.com/" target="_blank">www.KeglerBrownGlobal.com</a>), through which the firm showcases its expertise in everything from joint ventures and alliances to international dispute resolution, to name just a few areas of expertise.</p>
<p>Microsites are a great tool for companies and brands that have an already established image but have a need to focus on a specific area of expertise without losing its identity. They are also very useful for companies that want to create a more defined separation between practice areas within the same umbrella of service.</p>
<p>We were able to help Kegler Brown accomplish this by using visual elements from its main website in order to create consistency, while still introducing some elements to give it its own identity.</p>

Origo&#8217;s 2011 Halloween party, &#8220;Eat, Drink &amp; Be Scary,&#8221; was more than a success! We always try to come up with ways to have delicious food, live music, and great company around us, and our favorite day of the year was the best excuse. This was also a great opportunity to showcase our new space and enhanced interactive capabilities.</p>

<p>The talented Black &amp; Tan Fantasy trio played some great jazzy tunes with a lot of energetic improvisation to kick off the night. As guests started arriving, it was exciting to see the expanded office filled with familiar faces. Drinks like the <em>Grim Reaper</em>, <em>Witch&#8217;s Brew</em>, and <em>Skull &amp; Bones</em> were available for those who wanted to celebrate Halloween early, and we even had scary movies playing on our many screens!</p>

<p>The new Origo space buzzed with energy. With the on-site t-shirt silk-screening station enticing guests to receive their party shirt, we made sure that everyone got in the &#8220;Eat, Drink, and Be Scary&#8221; mood. Even our resident skeleton made an appearance on many pictures of the night.</p>
<p>DJ Ororo&#8217;s records filled the late night with an awesome vibe, and party guests left their inhibitions behind and took to the dance floor. No better way to finish out a great night than with a good old dance party.</p>
<p>So, if you couldn&#8217;t join us this year, you sure missed out. But the good thing is there&#8217;s always another party and another Halloween just around the corner, and you can be sure that Origo will be celebrating once again.</p>
