In an effort to increase prevention of child abuse and neglect within the Southwest Ohio region, the Ohio Children's Trust Fund collaborated with Origo to create an awareness campaign to inform and empower communities to take an active role in improving the well-being of children in the area.

Objectives

  • To implement a universal prevention awareness campaign to prevent child abuse and neglect, Origo conducted focus groups and surveys amongst families and professionals to gain insights and understand perceptions of this issue.
  • From our findings, Origo created conceptual directions for the campaign, which were tested amongst stakeholders¬† to help develop the campaign message The Power To Create A Better Future.
  • Origo created a campaign website that provides resources, tools, and information that empowers people from all levels of the community to take action, engaging them in the message that we all have the power to protect children from harm.

Results

  • Utilizing the findings from the research phase, Origo developed the campaign titled The Power To Create A Better Future, which helps to prevent the abuse and neglect of children in the Southwest Ohio region.
  • Using the campaign message, Origo created further messaging and outreach tactics that engaged everyone in the community to play a role in preventing abuse, utilizing tactics that create awareness through social media, downloadable resources, and other digital media strategies.
  • Recently launched, the campaign has generated exceptional engagement amongst the community, resulting in increased traffic to the campaign website and resources, as well as furthering partnership opportunities and earned media within the region.
