Being Seen And Standing Out On Social

With more than 3.5 billion social media users worldwide—all potentially creating and posting content—there’s a lot of competition for audience attention. Even the most compelling content may not draw the engagement you want if it’s not shared at the right time.

But when’s the right time? Thanks to the vast amount of user data that platforms like Sprout Social and Hootsuite have combed through, we can get a better understanding of the best days and times to post on various social channels — in general, and for specific industries. Below is a quick breakdown for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter from Sprout Social.

When To Post On Social Media

For all channels, Wednesday is the best day to post. And while the weekends typically see lower engagement across the board, your brand may be able to capitalize on the calmer, less cluttered time to really grab attention. However, we don’t recommend posting on Sundays.

It’s also important to remember that brand content, marketing strategies, and audience insights drive what and when to post. For example, LinkedIn is primarily a channel for B2B connections and career development, making it the place to share thought leadership pieces during the workweek. Instagram, on the other hand, is more of a casual channel to highlight your company’s culture and other relevant content in a visual way.
