Origo Takes Home Three Awards at CSCA Creative Best 2024

Last Thursday, Origo was honored to attend the 2024 Columbus Society of Communicating Arts (CSCA) Creative Best Awards. We are thrilled to share that we received three awards: Award of Excellence and an Award of Merit for a youth comic book created for Franklin County Public Health, as well as Best in Category for a PSA video we developed for our partners at Ohio For Responsible Gambling.
For the Award of Excellence for Franklin County Public Health, we were recognized in the Print, Long Form category for a comic book designed to educate youth on the importance of public health. Inspired by retro public service announcements, classic comic books, and Jay Ward cartoons, the story follows The Guardians of Good Health as they take on the villainous Dr. Infecto to defend the health of Franklin County. Additionally, we earned an Award of Merit in the Illustration category for the same project. Along with an excellent layout and design, we worked to develop and refresh the five essential characters of The Guardians: Vicki Vaccine, Frankie Fork, Globey (Gary Globe), Millie Microscope, and Lead-Free Lenny. With modern design, intricate line work, and expressive details, we created a memorable ensemble advocating for public health.
Our final recognition was a Best in Category award in the Video, Short Form category for a PSA video created for More Than A Bet, a campaign by Ohio For Responsible Gambling that addresses the alarming rise in student-athlete harassment by sports bettors. Our copywriting and design teams crafted an emotional video, incorporating a custom soundtrack to drive urgency and engagement for viewers. Watch this PSA series below.
