Origo Honored with Seven ADDY Awards — Including a Judge’s Choice and a Mosaic Award Recognizing DEI

March 4, 2025

Last Thursday night, Origo attended the annual awards ceremony for the American Advertising Federation of Columbus, a night dedicated to celebrating creative excellence. The work we do is never about the awards — as our mission is to develop the best possible creative work that helps to make a positive change in the world. However, it’s always nice to be recognized by your peers, especially on such a big stage. That said, we’re proud to share that we took home seven ADDY Awards, including three Gold Awards, two Silver Awards, a Judge’s Choice Award, and a Mosaic Award, which is an award that honors work that demonstrates exceptional DEI.

MOSAIC Award: More Than A Bet Campaign PSA Series

We were honored to win this year’s Mosaic Award, which recognizes work that champions diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The award was presented to the More Than A Bet PSA, developed in collaboration with Ohio For Responsible Gambling and Ohio Casino Control Commission. The campaign addresses the alarming rise of student athlete harassment by sports bettors. This was a very special achievement for our team, as we always strive to make sure DEI and cultural sensitivities are at the forefront of any work we do, respecting the audiences and people we’re working to represent and speak to. Thank you to our partners, Nick Biere (editing), Marc DiCenzo (sound design), and Jason Hambach (PA) for helping us develop such a hard-hitting PSA to continue educating Ohioans.

JUDGES CHOICE Award: Franklin County Public Health (FCPH) Guardians of Good Health Comic Book

We were also selected as a Judge’s Choice winner — one of the most prestigious awards of the evening that only goes to four agencies for the top entries of the evening — for an original comic book we created for Franklin County Public Health (FCPH). This comic utilizes engaging storytelling and interactive activities in an action-packed comic, focused on our main characters, The Guardians of Good Health. We’re immensely proud that the project is now considered an exceptional example of public health and educational work that helps elevate the knowledge and well-being of generations to come.

GOLD Award: FCPH Guardians of Good Health Comic Book (Public Service Marketing, Single Unit)

The FCPH comic book also won a Gold ADDY in the Public Service, Sales + Marketing, Single Unit category, recognizing the project’s efforts to turn public health education into a fun and accessible experience to reach both younger and wider adult audiences.

GOLD Award: FCPH Guardians of Good Health Campaign (Public Service, Integrated Media Campaign)

We won a Gold ADDY in the Public Service Campaign, Integrated Media Campaign category for our FCPH campaign, created to drive awareness and engagement with public health resources, vaccinations, and essential services.

GOLD Award: FCPH Guardians of Good Health PSA Series (Public Service Campaign, Film, Video, & Sound)

Another Gold ADDY was presented in the Public Service Campaign, Film, Video, & Sound category for the FCPH PSA series, The Guardians of Good Health. The series introduces a unique ensemble of 1950s-inspired cartoon characters — Vicki Vaccine, Frankie Fork, Globey (Gary Globe), Millie Microscope, and Lead-Free Lenny — who educate and protect Central Ohio from public health threats. With the help of our partner, Marc DiCenzo, we used original sound design to make these PSAs even more fun and engaging. See an example of one of the PSAs below.

SILVER Award: FCPH Guardians of Good Health Comic Book (Illustration)

The FCPH comic book also won a Silver ADDY in the Illustration category, recognizing the meticulous and imaginative craftsmanship of the Origo design team in bringing each panel to life. Check out the full book!

SILVER Award: Fat Head’s Brewery Website (Consumer Website)

We won a Silver ADDY in the Consumer Website category for the Fat Head’s Brewery website. Through bold, user-friendly design, the site highlights Fat Head’s personality and creativity, showcasing its growing product line and new locations and helping to increase customer engagement, sales, and loyalty. Explore this web experience and its diverse product pages.
