Origo and the Ohio SUD COE Partner to Elevate Statewide Healthcare Workforce Training and Resource Hub

As Ohio has one of the nation’s highest rates of unintentional drug-overdose deaths, it’s more important than ever for treatment providers to have access to the latest integrated care practices.
In partnership with Ohio’s Department of Behavioral Health (ODBH), the Ohio Substance Use Disorders Center of Excellence (SUD COE), at the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education and the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University, received a multi-million dollar investment by the state to address this crisis. With these partnerships and commitments, Ohio SUD COE was able to implement new, improved healthcare and substance use workforce training programs, consultation, evaluation services, resources, and more into one collaborative hub.
As the organization began focused outreach efforts, SUD COE engaged Origo Branding to develop a new brand and marketing strategy. Our team was honored to help and we ensured their new brand presence incorporates ODBH to assimilate SUD COE into a unified, collaborative hub for all of Ohio’s healthcare workforce to use.
Creating an Elevated Brand Presence
The goal was to help organize SUD COE as a statewide leader in substance use training services and resources. Origo developed three conceptual directions that were then tested among internal stakeholders. The final result led to an elevated campaign concept: Equipping Ohio to Make a Difference. To implement, we developed a new design language to guide the campaign forward and establish SUD COE as the leader for Ohio’s substance use disorder crisis.
Establishing a Consistent Documentation Template
With the new design language, our designers were able to develop a consistent visual identity that spans the organization’s research publications, training resources, impact reports, and more. Each template focuses on equipping treatment providers with the tools to quickly learn practical, evidence-informed practices they need to achieve the best outcomes in those they treat.
Engaging Training Videos
To guide treatment providers, the Center provides robust training resources that equip them with effective practical skills. Using the brand identity we developed and implementing new animation, this campaign’s video series portrays motivational interviewing (MI) communication methods as well as non-MI approaches in situations with individuals experiencing substance use and mental health disorders.
Strengthening Their Platform
Origo also helped SUD COE rebuild their social media presence. We developed a series of posts that carry their brand identity across multiple platforms to promote resources and training opportunities for treatment providers.
Advancing Care Across Ohio
Solving Ohio’s substance use disorder crisis cannot be done alone. By bringing together leaders in the field, SUD COE is working to help Ohio’s healthcare and substance use treatment workforce have the ability to meet the whole-health needs of those they serve and ensure every Ohioan has the support they need to work toward a hopeful future.
