In the calibration and testing industry, success is defined by absolute precision. But when two legacy brands merge to form a nationwide leader, how do you synthesize decades of immense technical capabilities and deep commitments to personal relationships into a singular identity? At Origo, we partnered with the TruMetric team to answer that question and establish their new narrative: Measured By Your Success.
The Goal
TruMetric is a nationwide calibration leader formed by the transformational merger of Micro Quality Calibration (MQC), established in 1978, and Technical Maintenance Incorporated (TMI), founded in 1991. This merger created a powerful “better together” platform for industry innovation and growth. With the TruMetric logo and naming strategy already created to elevate a unified identity, Origo was brought in to take these foundational elements and build out the full comprehensive brand strategy, which included a new corporate messaging system and storytelling strategy, all culminating into a sales-oriented, SEO-optimized website.
Strategic Positioning
Our process began with a discovery phase, conducting deep-dive interviews with key stakeholders from both organizations. We uncovered that while technical precision is a baseline expectation in calibration, TruMetric’s true differentiators are its personal relationships, turnaround times, and national reach. Using these core insights, Origo developed a unified messaging system centered around the brand’s new tagline, Measured By Your Success.
The brand story was then built out further, anchored by three core pillars of Integrity, Precision, and Innovation, emphasizing that while TruMetric possesses the capabilities of a national giant, it maintains the trusted, family-owned values of its roots. We also developed communication personas for key client segments, including engineers, buying managers, and CEOs, helping to guarantee a cohesive voice across all messaging touchpoints, while providing the ability to pivot when speaking to different stakeholders.
A Dynamic Digital Experience
To secure an immediate online footprint for the new brand, Origo designed and deployed a temporary “coming soon” splash page while the comprehensive digital environment was being engineered. The subsequent launch of TruMetric.com successfully consolidated over 100 pages of TMI and MQC content into a streamlined user experience.
Origo engineered the site to be a functional, conversion-driven business tool, with key features like:
- Massive Product Indexing: An architectural system designed to index hundreds of thousands of products, creating unique, crawlable pages optimized for search engines to capture highly specific, local market calibration queries.
- Custom Search Functionality: Predictive search implementation to enable users to rapidly find specific instrument calibration services across various industries and geographic locations.
Lead Generation & CRM Integration: Connection with the lead-gen and CRM software platform of Microsoft Dynamics 365, as well as the IndySoft client portal to provide real-time visibility and operational ease for clients.
SEO Audit & Market Launch Strategy
To ensure a flawless transition for the new brand and maximum impact in the market upon deployment, Origo conducted pre-launch technical SEO audits and cross-platform compatibility testing. Furthermore, to arm the sales team and introduce the unified brand to the wider market, we also designed an 8-page Line Card Brochure and crafted a targeted press release strategy, helping to introduce our new brand story through personal selling tactics and other marketing initiatives at national conferences.
