Since 2014, the Carolinas Credit Union League has been the primary advocate for credit unions in North and South Carolina, furthering its members’ political impact and future success. In an effort to better reflect the organization’s growth, reintroduce its mission, and elevate its offerings, CCUL engaged Origo Branding to update its brand strategy while launching a new online experience for its different audiences, reintroducing the organization to new and existing members.

To start identifying insights and goals for the new brand and website, Origo conducted website audits, surveys, and interviews among internal stakeholders, like core staff and board members. After conducting audits of existing marketing touchpoints to help guide our new strategy, Origo created an updated brand identity with the existing name, modernizing the logo by polishing its iconic “knot” symbol. This helped to pay homage to the organization’s history while showing an evolved messaging and design strategy for the league.
In an effort to launch the brand identity, Origo developed a membership campaign that utilized the new messaging and strategies, unveiling the new CCUL by highlighting the benefits of membership and generating excitement for the next chapter of the organization. The campaign assets included a brochure, press release, e-mail blasts, and social media strategies, all of which were utilized to attract and retain members across the Carolinas by engaging them in the evolved value propositions and offerings of the organization.
Origo also developed an evolved version of the League’s logo and crafted a new tagline, The Leading Voice for Carolinas’ Credit Unions, to emphasize the unification of the League and its work to be an advocate for all credit unions in the Carolinas. To complement this new tagline, Origo established a new color palette and visual identity, further demonstrating the professional, friendly, and progressive nature of the League.
Once the new brand approach was approved, it was applied to the design and development of a new website strategy for CCUL, with the goal of elevating the organization’s value propositions around membership. The new website includes an integration of the refreshed brand with modern website functionality, seamless integration with internal platforms, and more.
With an engaging new brand and streamlined website user experience, the Carolinas Credit Union League elevated its mission and promoted its wide range of offerings to credit unions. This allowed CCUL to further establish itself as a leader and a source of support for all credit unions in North Carolina and South Carolina.
