CBC New E-Commerce Website & Video Strategy - Columbus Brewing Company
Origo worked with Columbus Brewing Company, the city’s first and most recognized brewery, to create a new digital personality and experience to reflect their growth as one of the leading craft breweries in the region.
Origo designed and developed a new website with product pages, location-based menus, event calendars, an updated brand story, and an integrated e-commerce experience with original photography. Additionally, Origo worked with CBC to develop a brand mission video featuring the owners’ history, process, and philosophy.

To overcome long-standing perceptions of the brand, Origo worked with CBC to address three main goals. These were to communicate the brand’s reach beyond the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) market, establish a brand identity that appeals to a larger customer base, and highlight the brand’s commitment to quality in all aspects, from ingredients to can art.
With a stunning operational taproom and a beer hall in the works at Columbus’ new East Market, CBC also needed its website to convey the role its brand could play in the community, as well as function as a useful resource for on-premise, online, and in-store product sales.
Through concepting exercises and a facility audit, Origo implemented “Craft with a Capital C” as an embodiment of CBC’s past as Columbus’ first craft brewery and its future as a regional and national brand with a commitment to quality craft brewing.View CBC Website
The new website has digital elements of the physical brewery and taproom, like concrete textures and menu font styling. The star of the site is the original artwork developed by CBC’s in-house illustrator, appearing both as prominently displayed can silhouettes and vibrant hero images.
As a feature on the website, Origo also developed a brand mission video with original footage of the brewery and taproom, as well as voiceover work from the owners, Eric and Beth Bean. The video balances the coolness and attitude of the brewery-scene with the brand’s ethos of quality above all.
